Mail and Post is one of the earliest forms of distance communication. Road and Rail on Land, and Sea had been the major means of transportation used. Then came the Airlines and the whole business again got a new dimension.

The post business in India has been a government controlled and administered activity however with the advent of private couriers the scope has expanded.

The Issue

In the modern age information is the key. Knowing something, knowing it correctly or authentically and knowing it earlier makes Information the currency of the new era. This value in the information makes its safe transportation mandatory. Letters, Documents in paper form, Drawings, Photographs and Plans on sheets, and given the electronic nature of usage and processing of data Drives, Diskettes and other devices are moved from one location to another by Posts and Couriers.
